At Australian Meat School (AMS), we are proud to celebrate the success of our students and excited to share the story of Xuyen Nguyen, a graduate from our first AMS cohort. Xuyen recently made the journey from Vietnam to Australia, where he’s now working at Teys Australia Beenleigh Plant, a part of the second-largest meat processing company in the country.

From the dream in Vietnam

Before enrolling at AMS, Xuyen had been working in the meat processing industry in Vietnam for a few years. But he always dreamed of taking his skills further and building a life in Australia. He knew he needed to meet Australian standards, and that’s where AMS came in.

During our 8-week program, Xuyen worked hard to improve both his technical skills and English proficiency. He knew that every lesson brought him closer to his goal of starting a new chapter in Australia.

To the new opportunity in Australia

After completing the program, he successfully obtained his Visa 482 Visa, which allows skilled workers to live and work in Australia.

Xuyen is now working at Teys Australia factory in Beenleigh.

Just a few weeks ago, Xuyen boarded a flight to Australia, filled with excitement for the journey ahead. Upon landing, he was greeted warmly by representatives from Teys Australia and Response Group International. They took him on a tour of the Teys Australia Beenleigh Plant, where he met his new managers and teammates.

“This is a huge milestone in my life and career, and I’m so excited to start this new chapter at Teys Australia. While I’m a bit nervous about adjusting to my new life, I feel incredibly confident thanks to the thorough preparation from the AMS training program.” – Xuyen shared with AMS.

Settling Into His New Life

Now, Xuyen has begun his role as a boner at Teys Australia. His first week was filled with training sessions where he learned about company policies and working culture. One of the best parts? BBQ gatherings after training, where he got to bond with his coworkers and feel more comfortable in his new environment.

Even though Xuyen is far from home, he’s still staying connected with the team at AMS. He’s been sharing updates about his experiences, helping future AMS graduates prepare for what’s to come.

“I want to sincerely thank all the trainers and staff at AMS for their dedication and guidance throughout my journey. Their encouragement helped me reach this important milestone.
I’m also deeply grateful to my family and friends who have been by my side, always supporting and motivating me to overcome challenges. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I hope to make everyone proud in my upcoming role at Teys Australia.”

Xuyen’s journey from Vietnam to Australia is living proof that AMS’s model works. His success shows how AMS provides the skills, connections, and support to help workers like him build a future abroad. And Xuyen is just the beginning—AMS is excited to welcome the next cohort of students who are ready to take on this life-changing journey.
